We don’t know very much about Joseph Verity except he was one of 14 children born to Watson & Mary Verity at Hammer Farm, East Witton, Yorkshire, England in 1887. The English census of 1911 show Joseph as working on his brother Horenzo’s farm.
Joseph emigrated to Canada in 1911 landing in Montreal, Quebec. He moved west and at the time of his enlistment in 1915, he lists himself as a Rancher.
The family of Watson & Mary Verity. Missing from the photo is youngest son Jack, born 1893.
