SOLDIERS OF THE SOUTH SIMILKAMEEN

The following is an excerpt from the Princeton Museum Newsletter of Jul/Aug 2015.

Message from the Editors

In our last Museum News we mentioned the Elks Smoke Fund letters. These are thank you letters housed in the Museum written by local soldiers fighting overseas during World War Two. The soldiers were thanking the Elks Club for sending them Canadian cigarettes. Evelyn McCallum and Lori Weissbach have been combing through these letters and preparing them for proper museum storage. Lori has very kindly submitted a piece about the letters for publication in the Museum News. We thank her heartily.
